I desire to play for Liverpool—Brazilian midfielder

It is no secret that Liverpool going into the season could end up short in the midfield line but when it comes to admirers, the club isn’t quite short of them.

In fact, a certain Flamengo midfielder already has the dreams of putting on the Red kit and walking out of the Anfield tuff if everything works out well for him.

The midfielder, Joao Gomes who plays for Flamengo in the Brazilian league in a recent Instagram live stream told fans when questioned about his opinion on the Reds of Merseyside, and his response was that they were a team he would love to play for.

The midfielder is just 21 years of age and could very much fit into the midfield rebuild process of Liverpool going into next summer.

And by now, it is no secret of the talents housed in Brazil or South America, and judging by Liverpool’s current poaching of South American talents which Liverpool assistant manager, Pep Lijnders admitted to, Joao Gomes could see his dream come true.

“Liverpool are a team I’d play for. I have the greatest desire to play,” João Gomes said.

“Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and that of my family, my biggest dream in football.”

It was recently reported in Brazil that Liverpool’s rivals, Manchester United were interested in the player with the club sending scouts to watch him in person.

And judging by how well rated he is along with his talents, Flamengo will definitely want to cough out a lot of money from any club coming after the player.

Like Liverpool assistant manager, Pep Lijnders would say, ‘these are hidden gems’.
