I Can’t Explain Losing to Liverpool—Conte

Antonio Conte stated in his post match press conference that he is unable to explain his team’s 2-1 loss against Liverpool on Sunday.

“To have this type of performance in a difficult moment for us when we are managing many injuries, you need to find a new solution. Perisic and Kane as strikers was a good solution. To play with one striker, we would have delivered ourselves to Liverpool.

“We are a squad, we need to have all the players to be competitive in the Premier League and Champions League, three or four injuries make things difficult for us. But to have this kind of performance against Liverpool gave me satisfaction. It showed that our hard work worked.

“The fans tried to support from the start to the end, they appreciated the big effort the players gave. We attacked a lot in the second half, had a lot of chances. The result was unfair.”

While Antonio Conte struggles to explain the defeat, Liverpool will be hoping to gain another unexplainable victory against their next opponents.
