With that kind of profile, the Portugal legend isn’t one to let the opportunities that come with it, slide past him as he makes effort to charge an astonishing amount of money for sponsored posts on Instagram.

Ronaldo’s illustrious career has seen him win nearly every major football accolade, playing for top clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, and leading Portugal to European Championship glory in 2016. The 39-year-old has netted an impressive 891 goals in his career, but his success extends far beyond the pitch.

As one of the most recognizable celebrities globally, Cristiano Ronaldo is exceptionally marketable. Known for his incredible physique and his high-profile relationship with model and social media influencer Georgina Rodriguez, he has secured lucrative commercial and sponsorship deals with major brands like Nike, Armani, and Tag Heuer.

Cristiano Ronaldo also earns a staggering amount from sponsored Instagram posts, capitalizing on his over 600 million followers. According to CNN, the Al-Nassr star tops the celebrity rich list for Instagram earnings, making $3.23 million (£2.57 million) per post.

His long-term rival, Inter Miami star Lionel Messi, earns $2.6 million (£2.07 million) per post, while the next highest-ranking celebrity, Kylie Jenner, earns approximately $1.8 million (£1.43 million) per post with her nearly 400 million followers.

Ronaldo’s social media earnings have surged in recent years. In 2019, he was earning around £755,000 per sponsored post. His financial success reached new heights when he became the highest-earning athlete globally after joining Al-Nassr following his departure from Manchester United at the end of 2022.

Ronaldo’s deal, valid until 2025, is worth an estimated £177 million per year, including a £62 million yearly salary plus various commercial bonuses.
