Former Man City player fears Sterling to Chelsea will hurt City more.

The Raheem Sterling to Chelsea reports for some days have paraded the internet space as football journalists discuss on the transfer while pundits analyze the positives and negatives.

For former Manchester City goalkeeper, he sees it as a negative that could ultimately come back to bite at the club.

Shay Given gave his own verdict on the reports linking Raheem Sterling with a move to Chelsea as he shows genuine concerns of the forward leaving the club for a close rival.

Reports affirm that Chelsea have reportedly prepared a £50million bid for the England international that has been agreed upon with manager, Pep Guardiola prepared to let him leave.

Speaking with talkSport, the former Man City goalkeeper said:

“He’s a top player, but for whatever reason in the last 12 or 18 months he and Pep have not fallen out, but he’s just not started every game.

“Will he come back and bite Pep, maybe? That’s the thing from a City point of view, do you think he will come back and score a goal towards the end of the season that wins the league for Chelsea.

“It might fit well for both clubs.”

Well, it is quite okay for the ex-City player to show genuine concerns for Sterling’s exit, but considering the improvements the Etihad side made to their squad, it would be more of a negative for Sterling to remain at City.
