Erling Haaland Beats Record Set By Mbappe and Messi
Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, made history on Tuesday night as he broke records previously set by football icons Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe during a Champions League group stage game against RB Leipzig.
Haaland’s impressive performance saw him score an incredible five goals as City beat their opponents 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium. In doing so, the Norwegian star became the youngest player ever to score 30 goals in the Champions League.
The previous record was held by Mbappe, who achieved the feat at 22 years and 352 days, while Haaland managed to reach the milestone in just 25 matches and at the age of 22 years and 236 days.
This puts Erling Haaland and Mbappe well ahead of two of the greatest footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, who reached the same milestone in 48 and 38 matches respectively.
Haaland’s incredible performance also saw him become only the third player in history to score five goals in a single Champions League game, joining a prestigious list that includes legends like Messi and Ronaldo. The young striker’s record-breaking night didn’t end there, as he also broke Manchester City’s record for the most goals scored in a single season.
Haaland’s performance has cemented his status as one of the most exciting young talents in world football and his achievement is a clear indication of the impact he is capable of making on the sport. The Norwegian has already been linked with several top European clubs, with Manchester City rumored to be leading the race for his signature.
As he continues to break records and thrill football fans around the world, it remains to be seen what heights Erling Haaland will reach in his career, but there is no doubt that he has already established himself as a true superstar of the game.
