End Of An Era As Roberto Firmino Set To Bid Liverpool Farewell
Liverpool football club is set to lose one of its star players, Roberto Firmino, as he prepares to leave as a free agent at the end of the 2022-23 season. The Brazil international has informed the club of his decision, according to a report by Sky Germany.
Firmino, who joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim for £29 million ($35m) in 2015, has made a significant contribution to the club’s success during his tenure. He has played in 353 matches, scoring 107 goals and providing 78 assists. The forward has also set a record as the Brazilian player with the most goals (78) in the Premier League.
Despite scoring nine goals for Liverpool this season, Roberto Firmino is no longer guaranteed a starting position in the team. However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had expressed his desire to retain the services of the hard-working 31-year-old.
During his time at Anfield, Firmino formed a formidable partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, helping Liverpool win seven trophies, including the Champions League, Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield.
With his contract expiring, Firmino will now be free to explore offers from other clubs, including those outside England, who have been able to speak with him since January.
The departure of Firmino will undoubtedly be a significant loss to Liverpool, who will be looking for ways to replace his contributions to the team. However, the Brazilian will leave Liverpool with an impressive record and a legacy that will be remembered by fans for years to come.
