Dutch Government Approves And Expands Euthanasia Laws

The Dutch government has approved the  access to euthanasia for children of all ages.

The country’s laws recently onlu  allowed for euthanasia for children aged 12 and older, but the government has now decided to eliminate the age restriction altogether.

This means that children of any age who are suffering from incurable and unbearable medical conditions will now be eligible for euthanasia.

The decision has been controversial, with some critics arguing that children cannot fully understand the gravity of such a decision.

However, supporters of the new law say that it will give families and doctors the ability to end the suffering of children who are in pain and have no hope of recovery.

The Dutch government has emphasized that the decision to pursue euthanasia will always be made on a case-by-case basis, and that multiple medical professionals will be involved in the decision-making process.

Additionally, parents or guardians will need to give their consent before a child can undergo euthanasia.

This move is just the latest in a series of progressive measures taken by the Netherlands when it comes to end-of-life care.

The country legalized euthanasia for adults in 2002, and it has since become an accepted practice in many parts of the country’s medical community.

Euthanasia is the  painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma.
