Cristiano Ronaldo asks to be sold

Cristiano Ronaldo makes a sensational returns to Manchester United, those were the headlines a year ago when news filled the media space when the 5 time Ballon d’or winner made an unexpected return to the Manchester club.

It had started with the Portuguese forcing his way out of Juventus at the early stages of the 2021/22 season, privately requesting not to play a game for the Old ladies in a bid to seal a move to Manchester City.

One thing led to another, and voila, CR7 found himself back at Old Trafford as opposed to the Etihad. Again, Sir Alex Ferguson playing a key part to the move.

Flash forward to a year later, reports rile the internet space once more that the United legend wants out of the club.

It even states that, like with Juventus, he has asked the club to allow him leave should any Premier League club drop a satisfactory bid to pry him away from the club.

The news comes courtesy of The Times, who reveals the obvious; Ronaldo wants Champions League football atleast for the remaining parts of his career without it being tainted with the Europa League football he unexpectedly had been dragged into.

The Portuguese who is currently 37, believes he still has 3 more years in the top flight, and just recently, Chelsea were reported to have held discussions over a move for the 5 time Ballon d’or winner.

The Blues’ owner, Todd Boehly was stated to have held discussions with CR7’s agent, Jorge Mendes in Portugal, with the star being one of the topics discussed.

It remains to be seen if the Portuguese forward will do the unthinkable and leave United this summer, but the Old Trafford club by all indications are not ready to let the forward leave.

Will Sir Alex Ferguson have another chat with the talent again?

That all depends on if Cristiano Ronaldo would listen this time around again.
