Brad Pitt and Angelina Pitt ready to settle $350m rift amicably

In what has grown to become the longest celebrity divorce in Hollywood history, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reportedly agreed to an out-of-court settlement following their bitter legal rift over a 1300-acre estate in the south of France; the Chateau Miraval.

The rift that had grown between the 2 Hollywood icons intensified following a legal filing that had accused Brad Pitt of bullying and engaging in illegal behavior over the vineyard both couple co-owned.

Recent reports now allude to the former couple ready to work things out amicably.

Based on reports from documents filed a week ago in the vineyard dispute, both Hollywood icons are willing to engage in an alternative method in resolving the issue without engaging in a legal drama with the court.

The dispute over the Chateau Miraval vineyard had stemmed from a transaction that saw Angelina Jolie trade her share of the vineyard to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler.

Brad Pitt on his end had hoped to buy out Angelina Jolie’s share and was seeking to have the sale reversed.

In a move to protect the successful wine business that was established at Chateau Miraval, the Troy star in collaboration with French wine-makers Famille Perrin, took proactive steps.

He appointed a ‘provisional administrator’ in an attempt to mediate the conflict between himself and Nouvel LLC, which is controlled by Yuri Shefler.

The provisional administrator’s role will be to assess the operations of the winery and facilitate negotiations between Brad Pitt and Nouvel LLC, who are represented by the investment company that Shefler controls.

According to a French report,

“In view of the dispute between Nouvel LLC (controlled by Stoli boss Yuri Shefler) and Mondo Bongo LLC (controlled by Brad Pitt), Chateau Miraval and its director have requested and obtained the appointment of a provisional administrator by the Draguignan (France) Commercial Court, to enable the company and its director to continue to grow the business and its essential partnership with the Perrin Family until such dispute is resolved, in the interests of Château Miraval, its directors, employees, partners, and subsidiaries.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie acquired the Chateu Miravel in 2008, with the vineyard becoming the site of their joint wine-making venture in 2013.

However, in 2016, the couple’s relationship took a downward turn with Angelina Jolie filing for divorce following an incident that involved Brad Pitt and their children during a plane trip from France to California.

Brad Pitt initiated legal action against Angelina Jolie 6 years later to protest her sale of the Chateau Miraval vineyard to the Russian oligarch.

However, Shefler’s lawyers have accused the Hollywood star of using the wine business as a ‘personal cashbox’ for ‘vanity projects’ with the legal team seeking $350 million in damages.
