Arsenal won't win the Premier League -- Roy Keane promises

Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, has predicted that Arsenal will not win the Premier League title this season, despite being the current favourites to do so. Keane has tipped Manchester City to win their third consecutive Premier League title, and is confident that Pep Guardiola’s side will come out on top at the end of the season.

Arsenal currently sits eight points clear of Manchester City, although they have played a game more than their rivals. The Gunners could move closer to their first title in almost 20 years with key fixtures against Liverpool and City before the end of the month.

Speaking on The Overlap, Keane said: “They’re in a great position, wouldn’t have thought that at the start of the season but they’ve been brilliant, a lot of the young players have been very consistent, they can just focus on the league. They’re definitely favourites for the title. I don’t think they’ll do it. I still have to fancy City but Arsenal has got themselves in a great position.”

Keane’s comments come as Arsenal have been in sensational form in recent weeks, winning seven of their last eight league games. The Gunners have also kept six clean sheets in their last seven games, conceding just one goal in the process.

Despite this impressive form, Keane believes that Manchester City’s experience and quality will see them come out on top in the race for the title. Guardiola’s side have been in good form themselves, winning six of their last seven league games, scoring 17 goals in the process.

Arsenal will face a tough test of their title credentials in their next two fixtures, with games against Liverpool and City, who are currently in second and third place respectively. The Gunners will be hoping to come away with positive results from these games to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Whether or not Arsenal can maintain their form and win the title remains to be seen, but Keane’s comments show that the Gunners have certainly impressed this season and are in with a strong chance of ending their title drought.
