"Arsenal, My present and my Future" -- Martin Odegaard

Former Real Madrid player turned Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard speaks on renewing his contract terms with the Gunners following Arsenal’s return to the Champions League on Wednesday.

The contract extension which sees Martin Odegaard stay at the Emirates on formal terms until June 2028, gives Arsenal fans a future to look forward to with the number 8 leading the charge in seasons to come.

Speculations had risen concerning the Norwegian’s future ommitment after proving a key player for the Gunners last season in their title race versus Manchester City. Some reports even eyed a return to the Los Blancos after a few season captaining Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, with the new contract renewal, the 24-year-old’s future is no longer in doubt at the moment.

Martin Ødegaard according to the report, was keen on continuing his Arsenal journey, with the Arsenal board keen on tieing him down to a long term contract.

On signing the contract, the former Real Madrid player said;

“Signing a new contract was a really easy decision for me, what we are doing right now as a club is special, and I want to be a part of that,”

“I’m really excited for what’s to come here. I’ve found a place where I can be really settled and call my home,”

“At Arsenal, since the first day, I’ve felt great and this is definitely my home for present and future.”
