Former Arsenal star, Ian Wright has delivered a crucial message to his former club, emphasizing the importance of taking points off Manchester City if they are genuinely committed to winning the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal has enjoyed a solid start to the new season, and their latest victory against Everton, with Leandro Trossard’s second-half strike securing a 1-0 win at Goodison Park, has only strengthened their resolve.
Speaking on the matter, Wright shared his insights on the upcoming fixtures and their significance.
“Those three games are big but I would not say the PSV one so much because it is a Champions League game, it is the first one we are not really into the meat and bones of it yet.”
Wright went on to emphasize the critical nature of the North London Derby against Tottenham, considering their impressive form. He anticipates an “unbelievable” contest.
However, it was the clash against reigning champions Manchester City that he highlighted as a pivotal moment in Arsenal’s quest for the Premier League title.
“They are going to have to beat them and beat the teams around them and then hope the other teams are able to cause Man City problems as well because if they don’t beat them at least once it’s going to be very, very difficult to do it,” Wright declared.
