Alexis Mac Allister recommends perfect midfielder for Liverpool

Liverpool’s summer transfer window saw significant changes in their midfield, with the introduction of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch after the departures of James Milner, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.

As the January transfer window approaches, Liverpool is once again being linked with midfield reinforcements, specifically in the holding role.

According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, the Anfield club is considering a move for Boca Juniors star Ezequiel Fernandez.

Interestingly, Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has already expressed his admiration for Fernandez earlier in the year.

Speaking to TyC Sports, Mac Allister gave his seal of approval if Liverpool were to pursue his compatriot, saying,

“If you ask me a little more about my style, there is a player that I really like, and that is Equi Fernandez. He is a player who has all the conditions to reach Europe one day, and I hope that can happen to him.”

Alexis Mac Allister continued to praise Fernandez, describing his versatility and skills,

“He is a player that I like a lot, he understands the game a lot. He is always prepared to receive the ball, he plays with both legs, he can play as a five, as an inside player… he is a player who has certain very good conditions, and if Brighton asked me, I would say his name.”

Apart from Ezequiel Fernandez, Liverpool has also been linked with Fluminense midfielder Andre.

Fluminense’s president, Mario Bittencourt, revealed in September that Liverpool’s chief executive, Billy Hogan, had directly contacted him, expressing interest in Andre.

The Brazilian club decided not to sell him at the time due to their hopes of reaching the final stages of the Libertadores, a decision based on sporting criteria.
