Actors Guild of Nigeria confirms Junior Pope’s death

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced Thursday as a “No Shoot Day” for all Nollywood filmmakers in honor of actor Junior Pope and three other crew members who tragically lost their lives in a boat mishap on the Anam River in Anambra.

Emeka Rollas, the National President of AGN, issued a statement on Thursday, revealing that the incident occurred on the set of the movie “The Other Side of Life,” produced by Adamma Luke.

In light of the heartbreaking accident, Rollas declared an indefinite suspension of all film productions involving riverine areas and boat riding.

Additionally, he announced the suspension of filming on all locations nationwide for Thursday, April 11, 2024, and the indefinite suspension of “The Other Side of Life” movie production.

Furthermore, Rollas stated that no actor would be permitted to work with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice, as efforts continue to locate the bodies of the remaining crew members.

“May their souls rest in peace,” Rollas concluded, expressing condolences for the lives lost in the tragic incident.
