Again, the Nigerian national power grid falls

There never was a time Nigeria lacked a problem with power, and again for the 17th time in the year, its national power grid is reported to have fall.

Power distributors in Kaduna and other parts of the country have complained not being able to receive bulk electricity from the national supply line for some time now in a statement.

“We regret to inform you that the power outage being experienced in our franchise states is due to system collapse of the national grid. The collapse occurred at about 18:47 pm this evening hence the loss of supply on all our outgoing feeders,” the Kaduna Electric company had announced on Sunday evening.

“Power supply shall be restored as soon as the national grid is powered back,” the statement added.

It is not quite clear how many states were affected from the national grid’s collapse.

The disruption so far has marked it the 17th time the grid has collapsed this year.

It is unknown if this collapse will be a lengthy or short one as prior collapses were not made public because they lasted for short periods, whereas many others that were made public lasted days in some instances.
