Unknown Gunmen has reportedly abducted Catholic priest in charge of St Anthony’s Parish, Rev James Kantoma in Plateau State.

TopNaija understands that the assailants abducted the cleric in his house situated in the Angware community of Jos East Local Government Area.

The gunmen are said to have arrived in the community last night and went straight to the house of their victim who happens to be the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the council area.

Residents, mostly youths who were alerted by the incident reportedly tried chasing the assailants into the bush, unfortunately, they gave up the chase after the assailant reportedly began shooting sporadically and eventually took the Reverend Father away.

Commenting on the incident, the state chairman of CAN, Polycarp Lubo, lamented the activities of criminals in the community. According to him, “since the gunmen took the Reverend Father away, they have not heard anything either from him or his abductors up till this morning.”

Lubo, however, expressed hope that Kantoma would be safe and that the body of Christ is praying for him.
