Nollywood star Yul Edochie has taken to Instagram to fiercely defend the Mbaise community, pushing back against widespread negative stereotypes. The actor, known for his bold stances, addressed unfounded fears about Mbaise people, urging an end to the misconceptions.

The Nollywood actor may be known for being controversial, but when it comes to hate and fear mongering, the entertainer is not ready to entertain one.

Yul Edochie shared his personal experiences to debunk the myths, praising the kindness and hospitality he has consistently received from the Mbaise community. “I don’t know who started this ‘Fear Mbaise people’ idea, and why, it should stop,” he wrote. “All the Mbaise people I’ve met in my life have been so good to me.”

Reflecting on his time filming in Mbaise, Edochie expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and support he received.

“When I filmed in Mbaise, the hospitality I received was awesome. Mbaise people have been very good to me. I say it everywhere.”

Socio-cultural bigotry is a prevalent topic in many Nigerian communities, with stereotypical assertions commanding general opinions about a specific group of people.
