NIMC calls on citizens to report corruption among staff

The Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has issued a stern warning to staff members, cautioning against involvement in any form of illegitimate activities.

During a media interaction at the NIMC head office in Abuja on Friday, the DG emphasized that staff found collaborating with illegal entities would be subjected to disciplinary measures as stipulated by existing laws.

“I will not allow that to continue to happen. We will provide all necessary means to address the issue,” she asserted, stressing the Commission’s commitment to streamlining processes to ensure efficiency.

“We want to ensure that life is easy and seamless. One should not spend three to four hours in the NIMC office because of NIN services,” she added.

The DG underscored the Commission’s zero-tolerance stance towards illegal activities, affirming that both staff and perpetrators would be held accountable under relevant legislation.

Furthermore, she announced the Commission’s intention to review its service rates, noting that the adjustment would be moderate and aimed at maintaining affordability for citizens.

“We are going to review our rate. It is not going to be much, but it will be reviewed. We have not reviewed our rate for a long time. It is not going to be exorbitant,” she assured.
