22-year-old sent to prison for stealing phone

TopNaija gathered that The Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ota, Ogun State, has convicted Ihetuge Ifeanyi, 22.

He was sentenced to four years in prison for stealing three mobile phones valued at N950,000.

Chief Magistrate, O. L. Oke, gave the judgement on Monday.

NAN reports that Oke, however, gave the convict an option of N150,000 fine.

Ifeanyi had pleaded guilty to a three-count charge of stealing, burglary and conspiracy.

The prosecutor, Insp. E. O. Adaraloye, said Ifeanyi and others at large, committed the offences at about 3.30 a.m at No. 6, Femi Oni Street, Arinko road, Otta.

They broke into the house of the complainant, Olayinka Odunniyi, and stole an iPhone and two other phones.

The offences contravened sections 390(9) 413(1) and 509 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun, 2006.
