What really happened to cause our defeat -- Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou had Manchester City by the neck when his Tottenham Hotspur team faced the current premier league champions at North London. The league title seemed destined to be headed for the red half of North London until it did not.

Like always, Manchester City fought back and whisked themselves into a 2-0 lead to decide the game. Erling Haaland’s double on the night was enough to seal the win for City, while Tottenham’s missed opportunities cost them dearly.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his disappointment following the match, pointing to his team’s failure to capitalize on critical moments as the reason for their loss. Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Postecoglou said,

“It was a tight game with big moments. They took them, and we didn’t. That was the summary of the game.”

Ange Postecoglou highlighted the missed chance by Son Heung-Min when the score was still 1-0 as a pivotal moment that could have changed the outcome.

“Unless somebody saw it differently, that’s how I saw it, yeah,” he added. “We could have taken the big moments. That’s pretty much it.”

With this victory, Manchester City remains firmly on course for the Premier League title, while Tottenham is left to reflect on what might have been had they made the most of their opportunities.
