1-1 Draw to Liverpool not fair -- Pochettino

In a pulsating encounter that marked the beginning of Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure as the Chelsea manager, the team settled for a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, leaving the Argentine manager with mixed emotions.

Pochettino voiced his belief that his squad should have clinched all three points during the match on Sunday.

The highly anticipated match at Stamford Bridge witnessed an enthralling battle between Chelsea and Liverpool. A debut goal from Axel Disasi managed to nullify Luis Diaz’s initial strike, resulting in a level playing field.

Both sides exhibited incredible attacking prowess, but the scoreboard wasn’t the true reflection of their efforts as each team had a goal disallowed due to offside calls.

Reflecting on the performance, Pochettino voiced his feelings in an interview with Match of the Day, stating,

“I don’t believe it is [fair]. I think we deserved a little bit more overall. We feel pleased but at the same time disappointed because we wanted to win and we deserved to win, but it is only the beginning.”

The draw against Liverpool marked a promising start for Pochettino’s reign at Chelsea, but the manager’s competitive spirit was evident as he yearned for a victory that he felt his team had earned.
