Zidane is learning English to become Manchester United boss

Former Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane continues to be linked to the Manchester United job, and according to a new report, replacing Erik ten Hag could just be about possible now.

Former France teammate and Arsenal player, Emmanuel Petit has revealed the Real Madrid legend has started clearing one key obstacle that could prevent him from landing the Manchester United job.

Petit, speaking to DAZN Bet, said;

“For the last few months, Zizou has been taking English lessons… this is an open door. The fact he is learning English means that English jobs are now something he will consider.”

Amidst ongoing discussions linking Zidane with the Manchester United managerial position, Erik ten Hag’s future at the club remains under scrutiny due to a challenging second season.

The club’s recent struggles, including finishing at the bottom of their Champions League group, have compounded pressure on Ten Hag, heightened by an upcoming clash against Liverpool.

Reports from The Sun unveiled a meeting between prospective minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, a frontrunner for the managerial role if Ten Hag faces an exit from the club.

However, Zidane’s association with the managerial role at Old Trafford persists, marking a potential return to football management after a hiatus of nearly three years.

In 2022, Zidane expressed reservations about managing in England, citing language barriers as a potential obstacle.

He remarked,

“Certain conditions make things more difficult. When people say to me, ‘Do you want to go to Manchester?’ I understand English but I don’t fully master it.”
