YouTube Premium raises prices globally for individual, family plans

YouTube has begun notifying Premium subscribers outside the US about upcoming price increases, according to reports on social media over the weekend.

Android Authority confirms that the price hikes will affect regions including the EU, the Middle East, and South America, impacting both individual and family plans.

In some European countries, YouTube Premium users have reported that family plan prices will rise from €17.99 to €25.99, while individual plans will increase from €11.99 to €13.99 starting November 7th. Similar increases have been reported in Singapore, Colombia, and Saudi Arabia. A Reddit thread is tracking the price changes globally.

Additionally, some users have noticed the reappearance of a “Premium Lite” plan, tagged as a beta. YouTube had previously piloted this version with fewer features in 2021 but later discontinued it. The company has yet to confirm the return of Premium Lite.

These price increases resemble those imposed on US users last year, when the individual plan jumped from $11.99 to $13.99, and family plans rose from $17.99 to $22.99. Other streaming platforms, including Disney Plus, Max, and Paramount Plus, have also raised their prices recently.
