Sorrow looms as a young man was allegedly stabbed to death as rival thugs clashed in Jos.

A 21-year-old Usman Musa was declared dead after he was stabbed by rival groups popularly known as Sarasuka clashed in the Anguwan Rogo community of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The fight was reported to have occurred at 9 pm on a normal Wednesday, March 2, when residents of the area were still going about their daily activities.


A Daily Trust correspondent who witnessed the incident said the victim was stabbed in the neck when one of the rival groups stormed the area on a revenge mission.


The elder brother of the deceased, Abba Musa, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust.

According to Musa Usman was a victim of circumstance as he was never a member of Sarasuka or the rival group.


“The victim just went out of the house when suddenly he met with the assailants who were on a mission to revenge in the area. Apart from him (deceased), they also wounded other passersby who they met when they arrived the area.” he said.


Authorities were deployed to restore law and order in the community.
