Yar'adua's leadership: EFCC chairman urges Nigerian leaders to emulate

At the inaugural President Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Leadership Conference and Awards held in Abuja, Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), underscored the importance of Nigerian leaders emulating the leadership qualities of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

Olukoyede emphasized Yar’adua’s leadership, integrity and transparency as exemplary traits for effective leadership. He highlighted the need for leaders to prioritize moral and ethical principles, citing them as essential for national development.

Yar’adua, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2007 until his demise in 2010, was praised for his commitment to the welfare of the people and his dedication to ethical governance.

Former Nigerian President, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, also lauded Yar’adua for his patriotism and love for the country. Gowon recalled Yar’adua’s passion for addressing the challenges faced by Nigerians, particularly in rural areas, demonstrating his integrity and concern for the populace.

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State commended the organizers for honouring Yar’adua’s legacy and urged Nigerian leaders to remain steadfast in their commitment to national progress. He emphasized the importance of facing challenges with optimism and working collectively towards a better Nigeria.

The conference served as a platform to reflect on Yar’adua’s leadership ideals and to inspire current and future leaders to uphold integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in governance.
