Why We’re Probing FG’s TraderMoni Scheme – INEC Chairman Reveals

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu has announced that the commission will probe the TraderMoni micro-credit scheme of the Federal Government.

According to Channels, Yakubu made this known to journalists on Thursday in Abuja.

Some parties had alleged that the scheme, which distributes loans to petty traders, as a form of vote-buying, especially with the timing of its implementation.

Yakubu said INEC will investigate the scheme for possible violation of campaign finance laws.
