The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun has taken a “path of honour” by resigning.

Premium Times reports that this was said in a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena.

Adeosun had resigned on Friday months after a report had claimed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate was forged.

Adeosun had in her resignation letter stated that she had no idea her certificate was “anything but genuine” and thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the privilege to serve.

Nabena, speaking about the resignation, said:

Now that the report of the investigation is out, the right thing has been done, the honourable Minister has taken the path of honour and resigned.
