“What people in power do to Influencers” — Tolanibaj
In a recent podcast interview on Bahd And Boujee Podcast, former Big Brother Naija housemate Tolanibaj addressed the issue of influential individuals exploiting social media influencers for sexual favors, shedding light on a disturbing trend within the industry.
During the conversation with co-host Moet Abebe, Tolanibaj emphasized her reluctance to name specific individuals involved in such activities, citing concerns about potential legal consequences.
The reality star voiced her apprehensions, highlighting how some celebrities leverage their status to solicit sexual favors from influencers, irrespective of gender.
Tolanibaj asserted,
“There are some people in power taking advantage of influencers for sexual favors. Both men and women. There are some young male influencers who are doing certain things that they are not proud of for money.”
Despite acknowledging the economic challenges that influencers may face, Tolanibaj urged individuals to prioritize self-respect and integrity over financial gain.
“I don’t want to mention names because I’m scared of handcuffs. I don’t want to be arrested,” Tolanibaj confessed, underlining the seriousness of the issue.
As the discussion unfolded, the BBNaija star cautioned against compromising personal values for monetary benefits, urging influencers to uphold their dignity in the face of pressure.
“The economy is hard and I would not judge or blame anybody doing certain things for money. But I will advise, put your pride first and respect yourself more,” Tolanibaj concluded.
