“What BBNaija should do with the money” — Ahneeka

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Maryanne Ahneeka Iwuchukwu has criticized Season 7 winner Phyna for publicly calling out the organizers of the reality show over incomplete prize payments.

Phyna recently expressed her frustration in an emotional plea, claiming she has yet to receive 1 BTC, a prize promised by one of the show’s sponsors, now valued at over N100 million.

Ahneeka, responding to Phyna’s public outcry, argued that it was not a wise approach. Speaking on the ‘Terms & Conditions’ podcast, Ahneeka emphasized that Phyna and other past winners should not feel entitled to their prizes to such an extent.

“The thing about Phyna is, the thing that happens when you come out of Biggie’s house and out of nowhere, from 200 followers, you have millions of people, you think you are invisible,” Ahneeka remarked. “It happens to everybody. It takes thoughts and management to continue hustling.”

She acknowledged the possibility that the organizers might owe Phyna the money but suggested that Phyna should have sought a more private and civil resolution.

“If truly the organisers are owing Phyna money and that could be a possibility, it’s still a job at the end of the day. She needed to have found an inner counsel. Maybe she has done that and tried to have a civil discussion and it didn’t work out, I don’t know.”

Ahneeka further criticized Phyna’s decision to take the issue to social media, viewing it as a form of blackmail.

“But if she thinks the best way is to blackmail them on social media, I don’t think it is wise. She could have easily not emerged as the winner. She could have easily been the runner-up. And people saying she deserves the money, listen to me, nobody deserves that money,” she concluded.
