We want to win Arsenal the Premier League--Jesus

A few years back, a certain club on Merseyside was the subject of mockery by English fans for not having won the Premier League in years, now such banter falls on London club, Arsenal.

Arsenal have not being privileged to win themselves a premier league title since they last won it under Frenchman, Arsene Wenger in the early 2000s which is roughly about 20 years ago.

It is such history that new signing, Gabriel Jesus together with his new teammates want to change.

According to Jesus, he believes there is the hunger to do that in the team as he praises his teammates particularly Gabriel Martinelli as being talented like the rest to be able to achieve such feats.

In an interview session on a podcast, Podpah, the Brazilian talked about his teammate, Martinelli describing him as a beast who never got tired on the pitch.

“Woah! Martinelli – he is an animal. An animal! He never gets tired!” Jesus said about Martinelli during the interview.

On the premier league title challenge, he said:

“[My new teammates] at the club are so hungry, they are desperate to get this club back to winning a Premier League after 20 years.

“This kind of challenge excites me a lot to be here.”

Gabriel Jesus’ views of going for the premier league contradicts Martin Odegaard’s comment some days back of Arsenal having only eyes for the top 4 places next seasons.

This is prove though of the difference in mentality between players, and of course, considering Gabriel Jesus is used to winning trophies particularly the English title while at Manchester City, it is no surprise he would bring such mentality to the Gunners.

Then again, words are easier said than done, and if anything is for sure, it is that next season’s campaign would be quite tougher than what we had last season as a number of clubs have strengthened their squad.

A lot of punters have North London rivals of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs as favorites for the English title.
