We want to force Israel's hand -- Turkiye President Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced a decisive move to pressure Israel into a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Speaking during a meeting with the board of directors of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association in Istanbul, Erdogan clarified that the cessation of trade with Israel serves a singular purpose: to compel the Israeli government to halt its ongoing violence against Palestinians in Gaza.

The presidency’s official website documented Erdogan’s remarks on Friday, where he emphasized the government’s intention to collaborate with the business community in managing the repercussions of this trade halt.

The decision, executed by the Turkish Trade Ministry on Thursday, signifies a bold response to what Erdogan termed as Israel’s “non-stop violence” against Palestinians in Gaza. Erdogan expressed confidence that this action would not only assert Turkey’s stance but also establish a precedent for other nations concerned about the escalating situation.

The move reflects Turkey’s commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict and achieving peace in the region. With Erdogan’s strategic decision, Turkey positions itself as a key player advocating for the rights and welfare of Palestinians in the face of ongoing violence.
