We could use him — Robbie Fowler to Jurgen Klopp
Former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler has urged Reds manager Jurgen Klopp to sign Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton this summer.
Despite being linked with several midfielders, including Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, Conor Gallagher, and Mason Mount,
Jurgen Klopp is expected to oversee a rebuild of his squad after Liverpool’s inconsistent form and injury issues this season left them unlikely to qualify for Champions League football.
Fowler was impressed by Joelinton and called him the “perfect player for Liverpool” in an interview with the Sunday Mirror. The Brazilian has slowly become one of the most feared midfielders in the Premier League and has been instrumental in Newcastle’s push towards European football.
Former Newcastle and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has also praised Joelinton’s development under new manager Eddie Howe, stating that he was once a laughing stock but has become one of the best players in the league.
Joelinton, who earns £80,000 per week according to SalarySport, initially struggled to make an impact at Newcastle but has since become a key player for the club.
If Jurgen Klopp decides to pursue Fowler’s suggestion, it remains to be seen how much Liverpool would need to pay to acquire the midfielder’s services.
