“We are still a good team” — Erik ten Hag
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag despite the 3-3 draw against Galatasaray that places their prospect of gaining a spot in the Champions League round of 16 in jeopardy, the Dutchman still affirms his believe in the team.
Speaking post match to journalists, the former Ajax boss asserts that;
“I keep thinking that this team is good,”
“All the players in squad are good and deserve the best to play for Man Utd because they are brilliant players. And that counts for the whole squad.”
However, Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes found every bit of fault in the team’s performance, with the former midfielder marking out Manchester United goal keeper, Andre Onana for blame.
“All Galatasaray goals are down to André Onana. It’s a shame because he’s started to look okay…,” he said.
Speaking on TNT, Paul Scholes added:
“It’s the Champions League where it’s been a struggle for him. I don’t think his concentration is there which is the most important thing for a goalkeeper”
“The other team probably think we’re just going to shoot. Onana looks like he is going to concede everytime”
Erik ten Hag contrary to Scholes’ criticisms, still stands behind his summer signing.
Speaking on Onana, Erik ten Hag was quoted saying;
“He is OK. It is not about an individual. Individual errors in football can make a difference and you take responsibility for it, but it is always about the team.”
