War or Exodus: Israel continue to force out Palestinians

The conflict in Gaza intensifies as thousands of Palestinians continue to flee their homes in the Tuffah, Darraj, and Old City neighborhoods of Gaza City following new evacuation orders from the Israeli military.

The exodus marks the latest chapter in a devastating conflict that has claimed over 38,000 Palestinians and left nearly 88,000 wounded since October 7.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that any truce with Hamas will allow Israel to resume its military operations in Gaza. Simultaneously, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has stated that Israel will continue its military engagement with Hezbollah in Lebanon regardless of any potential ceasefire agreements in Gaza.

The toll of the conflict has been severe on both sides. The Hamas-led attacks have resulted in the deaths of 1,139 Israelis, with many others still held captive in Gaza.

International efforts to broker peace are ongoing, with mediated truce talks set to continue in Egypt and Qatar this week. The humanitarian crisis continues to escalate as the region grapples with the heavy casualties and widespread displacement caused by the conflict.
