Tuchel hints on Rüdiger’s exit

Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has hinted that defender, Antonio Rüdiger will leave Chelsea at the end of the season.

He confirmed this to the press on Sunday, April 24 after securing a late win against West Ham.

He said “The situation is that he wants to leave the club. He informed me of this in a private talk. It is disappointing. We will miss him a lot.”

Tuchel blamed the club’s inability to meet Rüdiger’s demands on the UK government’s sanctions of Roman Abramovich.

He said, “We gave everything — me and the club — but we could not fight anymore because of the actions.

“Without the sanctions we would at least be able to carry on fighting, but our hands are tied.”

Chelsea are prevented from signing new players, and restrained in the process of renewing contracts with their existing squad.

According to TopNaija.ng sources, Chelsea are in talks with Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
