Former Middlesbrough midfielder Robbie Mustoe has expressed criticism towards Kai Havertz, suggesting that the versatile forward’s performance in a midfield role under manager Mikel Arteta is lacking effectiveness.

This critique follows Arsenal’s unexpected 2-1 loss against Fulham in the Premier League.

Despite Kai Havertz contributing three goals in his last seven Premier League appearances for Arteta’s team, his impact was notably absent during the Fulham match.

The German international failed to register a single shot on goal or complete any dribbles throughout the encounter.

During a recent episode of The 2 Robbies, Mustoe remarked, “The struggles of Kai Havertz continue and this is what it is, he’s not effective, doesn’t do anything in there.”

Mustoe had previously suggested that Havertz’s inclusion in the team and his positioning around Jesus might enhance the goal-scoring opportunities. However, Havertz’s performance against Fulham failed to validate this theory.
