Third Mainland Bridge Reopens 9 Hours Ahead Of Schedule

The Lagos State Government reopened the Third Mainland Bridge for motorists yesterday, Sunday.

Recall the Island-Mainland link bridge was temporarily closed for Investigative Maintenance Test on Thursday. It has now been reopened at 5pm on Sunday which is 9-hours of the earlier scheduled 1am on Monday morning.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Taiwo Salaam said the decision to reopen the bridge earlier than announced followed the completion of the test by engineers.

The government also thanked motorists and residents for their cooperation and patience while the closure lasted. Lagos in partnership with the Federal Government, temporarily shut the bridge midnight 23 August.
