“The King is proud” — Buckingham Palace on Princess Kate going public
King Charles has expressed profound pride and admiration for Princess Catherine ‘Kate‘, the Princess of Wales, following her courageous revelation of a cancer diagnosis at the age of 42.
The announcement, made by the Princess herself, disclosed that she is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
In response to this shocking news, Buckingham Palace released a statement conveying the monarch’s sentiments.
The Palace stated, “His Majesty is ‘so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did’.”
It was further revealed that King Charles has maintained close contact with his daughter-in-law throughout her hospitalization and subsequent diagnosis.
Both King Charles and Queen [Assume the queen’s name or just refer to her as “Queen”] intend to extend their unwavering love and support to the entire family during this challenging period, as emphasized by the Palace statement.
Princess Kate’s cancer disclosure represents yet another hurdle for the royal family, following King Charles’ own battle with the disease. The King’s diagnosis was confirmed in February, with Buckingham Palace clarifying that it was not prostate cancer but another form of the illness.
This revelation came after King Charles underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate at the private London Clinic.
Princess Kate was initially admitted to the hospital for abdominal surgery on January 16, with her condition initially believed to be non-cancerous. However, subsequent tests revealed the presence of cancer following a successful operation.
King Charles’ hospitalization occurred shortly after Kate’s, albeit for reasons unrelated to cancer. Nevertheless, the timing of their respective health challenges has compounded the family’s trials over the past year.
