Super Eagles disaster: Angry Osimhen uses vulgar words on Finidi
To say it is all sunny in Nigeria will be understating the many issues facing the country, and to say the same for its national team, the Super Eagles, would be making light the crisis that has beset the 3-times African Champions. And now, it is Victor Osimhen taking on former national team coach, Finidi George.
In an X-rated jab at the former Super Eagles player who today confirmed his resigned as national team coach, Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen responded strongly to comments made by Finidi George, regarding his commitment to the Nigerian national team.
Osimhen was absent from the Super Eagles’ recent 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to an injury. Despite this, Finidi suggested that the 25-year-old striker could have managed to play in the crucial fixtures.
In a reaction on Instagram, Osimhen revealed his discontent with the former coach’s remarks. “I asked Finidi George to allow me stay with the players in the camp, but Finidi asked me not to bother that I should stay with my family,” Victor Osimhen stated.
The striker expressed his frustration over the backlash he has received following the team’s poor performances in his absence.
“Now after two bad games, everybody is now blaming me. I know how many injuries I’ve played with for Nigeria and I played my heart out but after two bad games, everybody is attacking me.”
Osimhen’s comments come shortly after Finidi George resigned from his position as the head coach of the Super Eagles. The timing of the resignation and Osimhen’s public rebuke highlights the growing tension and scrutiny surrounding the national team’s recent struggles.
The Super Eagles will need to regroup and refocus as they continue their campaign for a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the hope that their star forward will return to full fitness
