See The Face Of The Ex-convict Arrested While Trying To Dupe A Policewoman

An ex-convict has been arrested in Ogun state for impersonating the state Director of Finance and made an attempt to dupe a policewoman on popular social media platform, Facebook.

The man identified as Surajudeen Balogun, is 46 year old and according to him, he jut got back from prison where he served a term for theft and advanced fraud. The suspect was arrested by the Ogun State police command.

According to Premiumtimes, Balogun also presented himself as a staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission.

The suspect, a fashion designer, posed on Facebook as a staff of NNPC with the picture of the said finance director and had been defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

Balogun was earlier convicted for duping a woman, Bimpe Akinmade, of N950, 000, having claimed to be an NNPC staff based in Port Harcourt.

He confessed to have promised the woman an oil and gas deal that will earn her close to N5million, but he was in the process arrested and then sent to prison.

As soon as he came out of prison, he started his nefarious activities again. Luck ran out on him when he was trying to defraud another woman on Facebook under the same guise, unknown to him that the woman is a police officer.

The officer acted along and they reached a deal. So when it was time for Balogun to receive payment for the fake deal, which he had promised the policewoman, unknown to him that he as being set u, he was promptly arrested.

According to him:

“I met the woman on Facebook and didn’t know she was a policewoman. I actually promised to supply her oil and gas with my influence in the NNPC. She promised to then pay me the agreed amount. I was coming to get the payment when I was arrested by the police”
