Sam Larry, Naira Marley release video post Police detention
Popular Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, and show promoter Sam Larry have emerged for their first public appearance following their release from police custody.
Naija News disclosed that the duo regained their freedom two weeks ago after fulfilling their bail conditions set by the Lagos Police Command. Their detention was part of an investigation into the untimely demise of the renowned singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly recognized as Mohbad.
In a widely circulated video captured on Wednesday, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were spotted casually walking and reconnecting with Marley’s protege, Zinoleesky, signaling their return to normalcy after their stint in police custody.
Previously, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and two others had been arraigned on October 6 in connection with the alleged involvement in Mohbad’s passing. Following legal proceedings, a Magistrate Court in Yaba, Lagos State, granted the Marlian Music head honcho and Sam Larry bail amounting to N20 million on November 6.
Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun, overseeing the case, mandated the duo to surrender their international passports as part of the bail conditions. Additionally, they were directed to appear weekly at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Panti as the investigation unfolds.
The demise of MohBad, at the age of 27 in Lagos on September 12, 2023, triggered investigations into the circumstances surrounding his passing. Subsequently, the nurse responsible for administering a Tetanus vaccine to him was apprehended by the Lagos Police Command on September 19, 2023. It was revealed that the nurse was practicing without a valid license.
