PSG ready to let Lionel Messi leave
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly looking to convince Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Sergio Ramos to leave the club and move to a Saudi Arabian team, in order to begin a squad overhaul this summer. The Ligue 1 side is said to be considering the possibility of offloading the services of their trio, who are all former Real Madrid and Barcelona stars.
According to reports in Spanish outlet Marca, PSG is eager to move on from the three players and believes that a move to Saudi Arabia could be a viable option. The publication previously reported that Ramos had been in talks with Cristiano Ronaldo’s club, Al Nassr.
Goal reports that Al-Nassr’s rivals, Al-Hilal, are interested in bringing Messi to Saudi Arabia, while Al-Nassr may focus on signing Neymar. Ronaldo has already settled well in Saudi Arabia after leaving Manchester United in November, and PSG’s biggest stars could potentially join him in the country during the summer transfer window.
Messi joined PSG from Barcelona, while Neymar has been with the French club since 2017. Ramos signed for PSG on a free transfer from Real Madrid a season before, but has endured some inconsistency at the club.
PSG’s squad overhaul could be an attempt to address their failure to win the UEFA Champions League, which has been a priority for the club in recent years. The club has invested heavily in star players like Messi and Neymar, but has yet to achieve success in the competition.
It remains to be seen whether the trio will be convinced to leave PSG and move to Saudi Arabia, but the potential shake-up could have significant implications for both PSG and the wider football world.
