President Bola Tinubu honored 17 Nigerian Army members who lost their lives in Delta State during a ceremony at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.

In a significant move, President Tinubu announced scholarships for the fallen soldiers’ children, ensuring their education up to university level.

The scholarships highlight President Tinubu’s commitment to supporting military families in times of tragedy.

Additionally, he posthumously conferred national honors on the servicemen, recognizing their sacrifice for the nation.

Among the honored soldiers were Lt. Col. A.H Ali, Majors S.D Shafa and D.E Obi, and Capt U Zakari, recognized as Members of the Order of the Niger.

Other deserving servicemen, including SSgt Yahaya Saidu and LCpl Bulus Haruna, were named Officers of the Order of the Niger.

President Tinubu’s gesture underscores the government’s dedication to honoring fallen heroes and supporting their families.

By providing educational opportunities, he aims to ensure a brighter future for the children left behind.
