Police Arrest 21-year-old Mother For Allegedly Killing Her Newborn Baby In Ogun State (Photo)

On Sunday, November 26, 2023, neighbors of the Oyede Avenue Plaza in Sango-Ota found the rotting corpse of a newborn infant in their neighborhood and detained the culprit.

According to a police source, the suspect, who was thought to have delivered the baby alive, reportedly murdered her by putting her in a bag and tossing her into a neighboring complex.

When a stink started to dominate the region, several locals began examining the surroundings to identify the cause of the bad odor.

A resident subsequently discovered that the stink was coming from a bag behind a nearby compound.

When the event was discovered, one of the residents, named only as Ogunmuyiwa, was claimed to have gone to the Sango-Ota Police Division to report it.

According to a police source, the mother was perhaps mentally ill at the time of the crime.

Omolola Odutola, a spokesperson for the state police command, confirmed the event to the magazine on Monday, November 7, and said the mother had been detained.
