Operatives intercepted a phone call between suspected kidnappers in Karu, a community near Abuja, and an associate in the Kabusa area of the Federal Capital Territory, detailing plans for an imminent operation.
According to the report titled, “Plan by armed bandits to attack yet-to-be-identified location around the FCT, Abuja,” the kidnapping operation was scheduled for either Tuesday or January 17, 2024.
The intelligence, provided by a military source attached to the intelligence unit, highlighted the coordination between the criminals.
