Operation Whirl Punch airstrike wipes out 30-terrorists in Kaduna

In a decisive move, the air component of Operation Whirl Punch has successfully eradicated over 30 terrorists and kidnappers through a targeted air strike along the Kwiga-Kampanin Doka axis in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, AVM Edward Gabkwet, shared this significant development in a statement released on Monday in Abuja.

The strategic air strike in Operation Whirl Punch was executed based on intelligence reports indicating the movement of criminals along the Kwiga-Kampanin Doka axis.

Further intelligence revealed that the same criminal syndicate was responsible for the recent ambush on troops at Kwanan Mutuwa on January 27, as well as multiple attacks and abductions of innocent civilians in the Birnin Gwari region.

Gabkwet emphasized that a meticulous and deliberate scan of the area unveiled a trail of terrorists, moving in a convoy of approximately 15 motorcycles, each carrying at least two armed militants.

“Accordingly, the terrorists were trailed to a location where they converged before they were engaged and neutralized in a precision strike,” stated Gabkwet.

“The aftermath of the air strike revealed that several of the terrorists were eliminated as a result of the strike.”
