Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has refuted claims that he visited President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at Defence House in Abuja.

Topnaija reports that Social media has been awash with photoshopped images of Obi, Tinubu, and other political figures at Defence House.

However, Obi denied the reports and insisted that they are false, further highlighting that the opposition is spreading false information to tarnish his image.

In his words, “I never visited him (Tinubu). I didn’t. These are some of the things I have been telling you. They have turned the whole thing upside down. So, what they (the opposition) do now is think about what they are going to do to cause issues and what they are going to do to label him (Obi) this or that.”

Obi added that he is committed to justice and is ready to pursue the case before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal until a logical conclusion is reached.

He also clarified that he doesn’t hold UK citizenship, although he lived in the country for some time.

When leaving the country, he returned his “unlimited residency permit” to the authorities.

Regarding his recent “arrest” in London, Obi explained that he was stopped for a routine immigration check and that it only lasted for 20 minutes.

The former governor maintained that he was treated with all due respect and that he has never been arrested or detained in any country.

He also stated that the crisis within the Labour Party is fabricated, and there are no real issues within the party.

The reports are just the “rascality” of paid agents who are trying to derail the party’s pursuit of justice.
