It is one thing to play title rivals Liverpool and then there is walking out of the game unscathed which is of course is something Pep Guardiola rues post match.

According to the Spaniard, things aren’t looking good for his Manchester City squad.

The Manchester City boss post-match delivered a troubling injury update on goalkeeper Ederson, who was forced off the field during their Premier League encounter against Liverpool, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

The Brazilian shot-stopper sustained the injury early in the second half when Darwin Nunez inadvertently collided with his outstretched leg. The incident resulted in a penalty being awarded to Liverpool, which was successfully converted by Alexis MacAllister to level the score line.

Ederson’s injury proved severe enough to prevent him from continuing, leading to his substitution with Stefan Ortega taking his place between the posts for the remainder of the match at Anfield.

Speaking to BeIN Sports after the game, Guardiola provided a succinct but concerning update on Ederson’s condition, stating, “It doesn’t look good.”

The setback adds to City’s woes as they strive to maintain their position in the Premier League title race. With the draw against Liverpool, City currently sit in third place on the league table with 63 points, trailing behind both Arsenal and Liverpool by a single point.
