No NIN, No Mobilisation — NYSC Tells Prospective Corps Members
The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has issued a warning to all individuals who are eligible prospective corps members.
According to the corporate body, prospective corpers will not be mobilised if they don’t have the National Identification Numbers, NIN, starting with the 2024 mobilisation exercise.

This was discussed at a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday between the management of the NYSC, headed by its Director General, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, and the management of the National Identification Management Commission, led by its Director General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote.

Brig Gen Ahmed said that the partnership with NIMC on corps mobilisation will improve the NYSC online registration process.

He further said that the NYSC Integrated System, which was implemented in 2014, has greatly aided the scheme’s mobilization process.

During the visit, NIMC Director General Coker-Odusote expressed the commission’s willingness to collaborate with both authorities.

She praised NYSC’s mobilization processes and efforts to train corps members for leadership roles in its over 50-year history.

According to the NIMC CEO, the collaboration will streamline the whole mobilization process while also addressing a number of difficulties.

She went on to say that NIMC has collaborated with a number of government bodies.
