Nigerian Army releases traditional ruler of Ewu kingdom following Okuama incident
The Nigerian Army has announced the release of Clement Ikolo, the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom, to Senator Ede Dafinone.
The traditional ruler was arrested following investigations into the tragic killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama.
Major General Clement Nwachukwu, the Army’s spokesperson, clarified that Ikolo’s release was based on the lack of evidence linking him to the Okuama incident.
However, Senator Dafinone has stepped in as the monarch’s surety.
Despite this release, no conclusive evidence has exonerated Ikolo.
The incident in Okuama occurred during a peacekeeping mission, prompting the military to declare Ikolo and several others wanted.
